I was fascinated with the film "Into the Wild" as I am always intrigued by stories of people who pursue the ideal of the "Noble Savage."
I remember when I first heard about the “Noble Savage.” It was when Kevin Costner’s film, "Dances with Wolves" came out. Costner’s character, disillusioned with the humanity and society through witnessing the tragic events of the civil war, set out into the wild, into the frontier, to pioneer a new life. He joined a long history of people embracing the ideal of the Noble Savage.
